The goals of this project were to invite people in San Francisco to come to the Easter program put on by Reality San Francisco. After understanding the goal of the artwork, I gathered knowledge about the target audience and what style of design would reach them. The artwork needed to be clean, minimal and modern but with a traditional flair. After much research and sketching out multiple directions and ideas, I digitally created the strongest directions to pitch to the primary stakeholder. He chose a direction that depicts a rising and setting sun. This was to represent the sun going down on Good Friday and the sun rising on Easter Sunday.
For the print pieces, I handled all the production from design to printing. I went with a gold, navy and white color palette. For the invitations I went with a gold foil stamped finish because they were successful the previous year and accomplished the goal of this year to be beautiful and enticing. For the program, gold foil stamping was not possible with the budget for this deliverable. As an alternative, I had them printed using a PMS metallic gold ink which gave them an elegant finish. This project was created under the direction of Katie Rumford.
